Docket Nexus is a searchable index of United States federal civil lawsuits, built entirely from public court records.
What This Site Is
Docket Nexus organizes federal civil case records — plaintiff v. defendant captions, courts, filing dates, case types, presiding judges, and cited statutes — so that anyone can see the litigation behind a company, a person, a judge, an industry, or an area of law. Every page is generated directly from the underlying court data; nothing is editorialized.
The index covers civil cases filed in U.S. district courts, focused on commercial case categories (contract, product liability, intellectual property, securities, antitrust, labor, civil rights, and similar). Categories that consist mostly of sensitive personal matters — such as immigration, prisoner petitions, and Social Security appeals — are deliberately excluded.
Where the Data Comes From
All case data originates in the public record of the federal judiciary. See the data & methodology page for sources, update cadence, and known limitations.
